Another surgery
Fortunately, good news has arrived from the Hospital Universitari Quirón-Dexeus in Barcelona, where Aleix Espargarò successfully underwent surgery aimed at removing the plates and screws inserted following a serious accident that occurred four months ago. Last April, the Spanish Honda test rider had suffered a bad fall in Sepang during a private test session, where he sustained fractures of four vertebrae, as well as other bruises.
Back on track immediately
Initially hospitalized in Malaysia, Espargarò then continued his recovery period after the first surgery in Spain, with Honda meanwhile replacing the veteran Iberian with Takaaki Nakagami. Recovery now seems close, so much so that the 37-year-old has already indicated he wants to return to the track as early as September.
