Martin makes the Sprint his own
Jorge Martin did not make any mistakes on Saturday at Silverstone, delivering a perfect qualifying that gave him the Silverstone track record and then securing a double in the Sprint.
Starting ahead of everyone, Martin led Saturday’s race without the slightest slip, leading it from start to the checkered flag.

With this victory, the Spaniard rises to 220 points, +17 over Ai Ogura and +27 over Marco Bezzecchi.
For the Aprilia rider, this is the 19th Sprint win, a record since the short race was introduced.
The world championship leader’s analysis
Speaking to Sky Sport, Jorge Martin described his Silverstone Sprint: “Have I come back? Yes, well, let’s say I never really left. I struggled a bit in some races, not here. When I’m comfortable, I’m in shape. The team did an incredible job and we’ll see tomorrow. The tire drop? A disaster for me too, there’s a 2-second difference between the first and last lap. I thought they could catch me, but instead the others were suffering more than me. I managed a lot and ended up in a difficult situation, but better than the others.”
And he concluded: “Betting on me is never wrong. Yesterday I was in shape and was fourth, not a top 3 pace but top 5. Today we took another step and I was already seeing the podium, in the race I expected to fight but instead I pulled away. The new chassis? Hard to say how much it weighs, the old package Ai uses was already very competitive. I liked the chassis, there’s nothing negative. I feel good, the important thing is to know this package better and improve it.”
