MotoGP, Bezzecchi tries at Silverstone
It has been a summer marked by sweat for Marco Bezzecchi. And not just because of the heat. The Aprilia rider has worked hard to be ready for the Silverstone GP after the serious injuries sustained at Assen and Sachsenring. After the operation on his left collarbone, the Romagna native embarked on a swift recovery path, hoping to be able to race at Silverstone and limit the damage in the World Championship.

The work has been done, the will is never lacking, now we have to wait for the MotoGP medical delegation’s verdict, which must give Bezzecchi the green light to race over the weekend. In any case, the Rimini native will not be at 100%, because the collarbone fracture (which was also displaced) is an injury that should not be underestimated at all, and for a rider it can cause serious problems even in the medium to long term. At the GP press conference, held not at the circuit but at the Outernet in London, Bez spoke about his physical condition and his world championship hopes.
Bezzecchi’s words
“I don’t feel too bad physically. Obviously, it was a difficult summer break, not how I would have wanted it. I’m not yet at 100%, the shoulder doesn’t hurt too much, but the left knee is also injured. I tried to recover in the best possible way, I never stopped training. I worked out all summer, luckily I was able to test the riding sensations with a test at Misano,” these are Bezzecchi’s words. “At the moment I don’t have much hope of repeating the 2025 victory. This track is special to me, it is complete and I like it a lot. Last year I had a great race, but now we come here with a different mindset because the situation is what it is. I don’t want to think too much about performance, not right now. I just think about getting on the bike and seeing what sensations I will have“.

Bez also saw Valentino Rossi this summer while recovering: “To be honest, we didn’t talk much about the championship, my physical condition was the main topic. It’s always nice to spend time with him, but we will talk about the World Championship after seeing how I feel on the bike. Can I still be in the fight? I think so. It’s true that it won’t be easy, especially now, but I will definitely give my best. I will try to come back decently here at Silverstone, then I will have a bit more time to fix the last physical details. After that, from Aragon onwards it will definitely be a battle“.
Bezzecchi’s words tell the mood with which he approaches the British GP. The Romagna native is “bandaged” but the desire to race is much stronger than the aches. And then it is a flowing track, where his Aprilia knows how to shine: it was right here last year that Bezzecchi got his first win with the RS-GP.
