Norris never so tough
The words released to The Guardian last July 24 by Lando Norris did not go unnoticed, as the McLaren world champion strongly took a stand against the management of the Circus by FIA and Liberty Media.
The 26-year-old from Bristol’s accusations are very sharp: “I find it a shame that F1 is driven only by business and not by the goal of making this sport the best possible. They only think about how to make more money as a company, but this is not how F1 should be managed. A sport should not be managed like this.”
Transparent drivers
Norris then continued, criticizing the reasons behind the regulatory change: “Everyone wants to make money and so to bring in Audi and other manufacturers we had to change all these things. It should never have gone like this, but companies work like this.”

The McLaren champion complained about the little attention given to the drivers: “Ours should be the most authoritative voice. I don’t say it out of selfishness, but because we have the best vision of how races should be. And instead we have very little say. But involving Audi and others is considered more important than making the drivers satisfied.”
In the statement of last July 29, Formula 1 highlighted the many successes achieved by the category in terms of audience and following in the first half of 2026.
