From Grill The Grid to Grill The Red Bull
As every summer, Formula 1 has published on its YouTube channel the first episodes of the series Grill The Grid, a sequence of skill or memory games in which F1 drivers have to challenge each other. The first challenge was to guess the name of a certain driver from the list of teams for which he has raced during his career. In case you are fans of the genre, we won’t spoil who the winner was, but what made the news was especially a response – funny but at the same time sharp – from Alex Albon.

Everyone fired
When it came to guessing the name of a driver who in his career raced only for Toro Rosso and Red Bull in fact, the Thai Williams driver did not immediately think of the name of his former teammate, Max Verstappen, which was the correct answer.

Then, after finally guessing the Dutchman’s name, Albon let himself go to a consideration that certainly found agreement with many of the drivers who have passed through the Academy once managed by Helmut Marko: “I was like ‘there is no driver who has had this path, because everyone gets fired at this point’“. All said while pointing with his finger at the Red Bull emblem. A comment that triggered laughter from those present also because, except for Verstappen, it has really always been like that. Who knows if from 2027, with the new management of the junior programme by Gwen Lagrue, things might change.
