Verstappen: “Racing at Zandvoort was a privilege”

F1, Verstappen towards Zandvoort

After a month-long break, F1 is back on track, and Max Verstappen is more motivated than ever. The four-time world champion comes from three podiums in the last four GPs and will certainly want to continue his good streak (at least in terms of results) during the home weekend.

For Verstappen, it is also the opportunity to greet the fans of Zandvoort with a last dance before the circuit says goodbye to F1. The Red Bull driver presented the Dutch GP weekend this way, which is also the venue for the fifth Sprint event of the season.

Verstappen’s words

We relaxed and recharged after the summer break and I can’t wait to dive straight into the race week at Zandvoort. It will be a special event both for me and the fans, as this is the last Dutch Grand Prix before it leaves the calendar. I have so many great memories here at Zandvoort and being able to race in front of my home crowd in recent years has been a privilege,” this is Verstappen’s comment.

This week I will race with my special helmet, whose design is inspired by the famous blue Delft ceramics. It is a very traditional and beautiful pattern, something a bit more unique for the last race. The helmet is a tribute to the Dutch fans for their constant support over the years, so we hope to make them proud this weekend“.

For his last Zandvoort GP, Verstappen will not have Isack Hadjar by his side, who on the Dutch circuit also achieved his first F1 podium. The Frenchman, victim of a wrist injury, will be replaced by Liam Lawson.
