Tsunoda was ready and will return to F1 eight months after his last GP, the Abu Dhabi one, where he finished 14th: “I am happy to be back on track this weekend and to step in for the team. I wish Isack a speedy recovery,” this was the Japanese driver’s comment on social media.

Wishing him “good luck” was Hadjar himself, who replied to Tsunoda’s post with few but impactful words: “Have fun, brother“.

In the misfortune of Hadjar’s injury, Red Bull was lucky to have a driver already “ready to go,” even though for Tsunoda this is his debut in a race weekend with a car born from the new regulations.

For Tsunoda, the Dutch GP is an important showcase with an eye on 2027. The Racing Bulls is an easy car to drive, not by chance the Faenza team saved Liam Lawson’s career after the failure at Red Bull, while all the young drivers who get into the VCARB models perform well immediately, as Arvid Lindblad also demonstrates. Much, obviously, will depend on the extent of Hadjar’s injury, but even just Zandvoort can put Tsunoda in a good light for a lower-ranking team.
