In the Netherlands after the Hungarian success
After the summer break, Formula 1 will return this weekend to Zandvoort, on the circuit where the last edition of the Dutch Grand Prix will also be held. An event that will take place almost a month after the first seasonal victory of the reigning world champion Lando Norris, who is preparing to face the second half of this world championship with greater optimism: “The win in Hungary gave the team a lot of confidence – the British driver said during the FIA press conference – I am never one to overreach, so we will not automatically win this race as well, but our goals are very high, so we want to believe we can do it“.

McLaren’s progress
A success achieved after the package of updates brought by McLaren to the Hungaroring, which could be the first step towards the growth of the Woking team also in the upcoming races, starting with this Sunday’s: “With the new parts we brought and the new pace we found in Budapest, I think we just need to understand if the performance will improve everywhere – continued the #1 – on every track, every type of asphalt, in every kind of corner, even on more specific circuits, so we need to stay calm, but it is true that we have made a good step forward, and it is a good sign”.
Verstappen at McLaren: now it’s ‘no’
Norris, among various questions, also answered those related to other drivers, starting with Max Verstappen’s renewal at Red Bull, which definitively denied any rumors about a possible move of the Dutchman to McLaren: “I would have welcomed anyone as a teammate, and clearly someone who has won so many worldwide like him, with his talent, it would always have been nice to have him as a teammate, but I know Oscar will be my teammate for a long time and I don’t expect that to change”. To this, the Englishman also replied about the gap that separates him in the overall standings from leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli: “Less than 100 points… Yes, honestly I only think about it when you talk about it, when you ask me questions, I haven’t thought about it yet this season, especially after the last races, and it doesn’t make sense to think about it for long”.

Enough Zandvoort
The British driver, finally, expressed regret about the upcoming Dutch GP, which will be the last scheduled on the Zandvoort track before its exit in 2027: “I am quite sorry and disappointed because it is an event I like in itself; I like the fans, even if most of them come here for just one driver, but it is still a fun event. There is a nice atmosphere, a great passion and that is what you always want to see. I like going to smaller GPs too, but it’s a shame. It’s not our choice, but I think if it depended on the drivers we would probably want to keep it, and certainly also regarding my opinion. However, my opinion doesn’t count, and right now it’s a shame, but I hope it can come back one day“.
