Lance made his debut in Formula 1 in 2017 with Williams Martini Racing. He made history as the 2nd youngest driver to start a race and to score a podium finish.

For his second season in Formula 1, Lance remained with Williams Martini Racing alongside new teammate Sergey Sirotkin, with a best result of P9 at the 2018 Italian Grand Prix at Monza. He secured his and the team’s best result came in the Italian Grand Prix at Monza – the same circuit he secured a front row start at in 2017. The year proved to be a critical learning curve for what was to come in the future in his career.

A new chapter in 2019, Lance integrated to the Racing Point family. Feeling right at home there was a new outlook for the future. He scored the team’s best result of P4 at the German Grand Prix wet-dry thriller in Hockenheim. Lance rounded out the year strongly with the pink panthers in the RP19.

2020 marks Lance’s 4th season as an F1 driver. Competing for BWT Racing Point, the pink panther has high ambitions for the current season.

“Being able to race in a world filled with uncertainty, due to the global pandemic, has given us drivers the chance to provide an outlet of joy for race fans around the world – for that I am grateful.”

2020 is about showing resilience in the face of adversity and uniting as one against the array of issues we as the human race are confronted with.
